This trip is a perfect introduction to trekking in the northwest highlands of Sapa, with time also spent in the architecturally rich capital city of Hanoi. The trip offers a balance of cultural insights and physical activity set amongst some of northern Vietnam’s most stunning landscape scenery. After exploring the vibrant city of Hanoi we travel by comfortable overnight train to the hillside retreat of Sapa in the country’s north. Sapa is home to many of North Vietnam and South West China’s minority groups and we spend the next three days on a remote trek through settlements and picturesque villages. We have ample time to observe the local lifestyles of these unique cultures before returning to Hanoi.

Night 1 : Hanoi – Lao Cai
8:00 PM - Mini bus / taxi pick guests up from hotel and transfers to Tran Quy Cap train station.
9:00 PM - Train departs and overnight on train.Travel time approx 9 hrs.
Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van -Sapa:
Early check in is possible when you arrive if the room available otherwise we will provide you a basic hotel room where you can have shower or relax Start the trip at 9:30 as below.
First start of 6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Conitue a 2km-trekking down to Lao Chai village, through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. Lunch at a local family, it gives you a worth chance for you to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes…on the way. Last trek is about 2Km to the bus stop in Tavan then get back to Sapa by jeep or motorbike. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat & Sin Chai A - Sapa :
Enjoying having breakast at the hotel and then walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy picnic lunch by the side of the river, and then next 3 km to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning landscapes before climbing up on the way a jeep to return to Sapa. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner are all included.Overnight in a hotel in Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa - Suoi Thau - Ma Tra - Ta Phin - Sapa 5km by jeep":
Visit the red Dzao in Suoi Thau, Ma Tra villages. 9km trekking through the local village, the rice and corn field. Picnic lunch en –route. Reach Ta Phin village where we have chance to learn about the life styles and the custom of the red Dzao minority, enjoy landscapes…then drive back to Sapa. Enjoy the dinner at the hotel in Sapa town before driving back to Lao Cai train station to cacth overnight train to Hanoi .
Trekking level: 5/10 , 9KM of trekking, 20km of driving.
Night 4 : Lao Cai – Hanoi.
5:00 AM – Arrive at Tran Quy Cap Train Station, our staff will bring you back to your hotel for the next trip .Tour ends.

- Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
- Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.
- Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
- You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
